COVINGTON - Funeral services for Robert R. Evans, age 62, of Danville, Ill., step-father of Wayne Weidenburner of Covington Rt., who died at 3 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 20, at the Veterans Administration Hospital, were held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Lakeside Funeral Chapel in Danville. Burial was in the GAR cemetery in Homer, Ill. Mr. Evans, who had been a patient in the hospital for two months, had been in ill health 10 years. He was born Aug. 28, 1908 in Homer, Ill., the son of George and Mary Deneen Evans. He married Edna Weidenburner April 11, 1935 in Chicago, Ill., and she survives. He was employed as a supply clerk at Chanute Air Force Base in Rantoul, Ill. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army. He was a member of the American Legion Post 51 of Westville and Jewell Whyte Post 128, VFW. Also surviving are: three step-sons, Joseph and Donald Weidenburner of Danville and Wayne of Covington; 16 step-grandchildren; one brother, Fred Evans of Chicago and a sister, Mrs. Harriett Keller of Chicago. - jlr
